Charity Joining Party at Hancock Fabrics -- January 24 from 12 - 4pm

CHARITY DAY JOINING PARTY
By Claire Wudowsky

Please join Capital Crocheters & Knitters, Inc. and Hancock Fabrics for a Charity Day Joining Party on Saturday, January 24, 2004 from 12-4. We’re going to make and join squares into blankets to keep people warm at three local homeless shelters:

• Community for Creative Non-Violence in Washington D.C.
• Shelter House in Fairfax County, Virginia
• The Dwelling Place in Montgomery County, Maryland

The weather outside is frightful - and we're expecting it to get a lot worse! This winter is going to be a cold one. While most of us of us have warm beds to go home to at night and have families that are healthy and safe, the Washington, D.C. area has far too many people who are not so fortunate. People who are homeless are especially vulnerable right now - and they need our help. So, bring your knitting needles, yarn, crochet hooks and yarn needles to one of the following Hancock Fabric stores and make a difference in the lives of those in need:

Gaithersburg
218 N Frederick Avenue
Gaitherstowne Shopping Center
Gaithersburg MD 20877

Volunteers will be on hand to help you get started or to help get you back on track with a charity project. We'll also have free patterns available at the event.

Of course, we can make this a little more interesting. Some lucky attendees will win prizes and everyone will be a winner with a Hancock Fabrics 20% off coupon which will be distributed during the event.

Ample, free parking is available at each store. If you have any
questions, call 202-986-1888 or contact us in email at

Stash Buster Alert:
If your stash is overflowing with smooth worsted weight yarn - we can help with this dilemma! Donate that spare yarn to Capital Crocheters & Knitters, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting the education and art of knitting and crocheting.
